  • You shall eat the good of the land...

    fulfillthedesire

If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Isaiah 1:19

Praying To Say Yes To God Each Day Of Your Life

The part we don't want to hear is that a time comes when each of us must place our desires and dreams in the hands of God so that He might free us from those that are not His will. In other words, you secure your future by releasing your dream to God and, if need be, allowing it to die. If you've always had a certain picture of what you think you should do, you have to be willing to let the picture be destroyed. If it really is what God has for you, He will raise you up to do that and more. If it isn't, you will be frustrated as long as you cling to it.

Often the desires of your heart are the desires of His heart, but they still must be achieved His way, not yours, and you must know that it is He who is accomplishing them in you, not your achieving them yourself. God wants us to stop holding on to our dreams and start holding on to Him so that He can enable us to soar above ourselves and our own limitations. Whenever we let go of what we long for, God wll bring it back to us in another dimension.

The Art of the Quick Response

Saying yes to God means being willing to obey immediately when we hear His voice, and not waiting until all else fails or we feel like it or we're at the end of ourselves. For God to transform us into whole people, we have to be totally available to Him. If He is telling us, "Do this," then our saying, "Yes, God" immediately will bring the desired results more quickly.

Again, this is done a step at a time. If you can't trust God enough yet to say, "Anything You ask of me, I'll do," then keep working at it. I must admit that saying yes to God was difficult for me until I read God's words in the Scripture: "When I called, they did not listen; so when they called, I would not listen." (Zechariah 7:13) That puts it all in perspective, doesn't it? If we want God to hear our prayers, we need to listen and respond to His voice.

Being willing to say yes to God made me a candidate for much healing and blessing. Of course, I don't always hear Him and I don't always say yes immediately, but my desire is to do that. Saying yes to God without reservation is the first step of obedience that begins to build a successful and fulfilling life on the foundation you have laid down in the Word: prayer, confession, praise, and ongoing forgiveness.

Excerpts from: Prayers For God's Will For Your Life/Stormie Omartian

      Luke137

Last Sunday, I got a chance to watch Dr. Robert Jeffries of Pathway to Victory on DayStar. His sermon was centered on God's deliverance. He spoke about the story of Joseph of the Old Testament. Before Joseph got his answer from God, it took him years to see God's response. To make a long story short, he was sold by his brothers and was jailed for two years before his life would completely turn around and a life that Joseph could hardly imagine. This turning point in his life paved the way for God's people to be free from slavery eventually. Despaired and at the end of his strength in prison, Joseph desparately just left his future to God. He just completely trusted God on whatever future God has in store for him. He was down and out and completely humbled.

As Dr. Jeffries continued with his sermon, he shared three events in our life which signal that God is ready to deliver us, or answer our prayers:

    1. When we come to the end of our own strength or we are at the end of our rope. (Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 1 Peter 5:6)

    2.  When someone else pleads our case for us.

    3.  When God reaches to us without any effort in our part.

Somehow, this reminded me of my own "deliverance." I was totally exhausted in my own strength, and I was at the end of my rope, and felt so helpless. I was trying so hard to achieve approvals from people around me at work and my own personal life that my stress level was so high that I was so ready for a breakdown.

I still believe to this day that someone I know prayed for me, not really knowing what I was going through. It's just a Christian prayer to someone for blessings and probably for God's manifestation. Whatever it was, God's deliverance came in due time without any effort in my part.Philippians47

More of God's deliverance came forth when I've learned to be obedient to God's will for my life. When I started leaving it all up to God, whatever He desires for my life, I will follow, my work environment and personal life completely turned around to something I could not have imagined. If I forced and used my own strength and efforts, I would surely have disastrous results!

“Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).

It was a start of an endless desire to know more of Jesus and eventually, Father God. The more I studied and prayed for His wisdom, the more obedient I've become and responsive to His voice. When I completely let God lead me everyday of my life, He answered my prayers in ways I was not expecting them to be. Without any effort in my part, God was working behind the scenes to get to where He was getting ready to deliver me and to answer all my prayers. When I realized that it was God who worked everything out His way, and not mine, I've been in awe of God's promises and faithfulness ever since.

Today, I am still God's work in progress. Everyday, I live for God. I know that He is working behind the scenes and I've seen glimpses of His continued work in my life and my loved ones. I am listening to His voice attentively and though it feels like He might be slow with His continued plan for my life, I know that it will be in His time and it will be good. It would most likely not what I have in mind, but it would be something well thought of by God and it will be to my best interest as well as to the people that I love. God is a multi-tasker as Dr. Jeffries reminded in his sermon. God is working in other people's lives that would connect to mine later on to fulfill God's plan for my own life and my loved ones.

One thing that He always continually reminding me of, as I wait, is this Scripture:

    Do Not Love This World

15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. 17 And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. 1 John 2:15-17

  • According to what their actions/deeds deserve

14 Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “All of you listen,” he said, “and try to understand. 15 It’s not what goes into your body that defiles (pollute, corrupt, filthy, unfit, unclean) you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.[h]

17 Then Jesus went into a house to get away from the crowd, and his disciples asked him what he meant by the parable he had just used. 18 “Don’t you understand either?” he asked. “Can’t you see that the food you put into your body cannot defile you? 19 Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.)

20 And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. 21 For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, 22 adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. 23 All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.” Mark 7:14-23

    ************

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them. Hebrews 13:8-9

    **************

9 “The human heart is the most deceitful of all things,
          and desperately wicked.
Who really knows how bad it is?
10 But I, the Lord, search all hearts
          and examine secret motives.
I give all people their due rewards,
according to what their actions deserve.” Jeremiah 17:9-10

    *************

23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. Romans 3:23-26

     ************

He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:5-8

    ***************

8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:8-10

    **************

5 that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) Ephesians 2:5

    ************

17 For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.  John 1:17

    ************

22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. Romans 3:22

    ************

6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. John 14:6

    ************

5 For there is only one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.1 Timothy 2:5-6

    ************

20 “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. 21 Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.  Jesus on Revelation 3:20-21

    **************

15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says,

16 “This is the new covenant I will make
with my people on that day,
    [c] says the Lord:
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”[d]

     17 Then he says,

       “I will never again remember
          their sins and lawless deeds.”[e]

18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. Hebrews 10:15-18

    ****************

16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16

    ****************

5 This is the message we heard from Jesus[c] and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts. 1 John 1: 5-8

    *********************

26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. 28 For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us. 30 For we know the one who said,

       “I will take revenge.
          I will pay them back.”[h]

       He also said,

“The Lord will judge his own people.”[i]

31 It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:26-31

    *****************

27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

29 After all, is God the God of the Jews only? Isn’t he also the God of the Gentiles? Of course he is. 30 There is only one God, and he makes people right with himself only by faith, whether they are Jews or Gentiles.[j] 31 Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law. Romans 3:23-21

    *************************

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does. James 1:22-25

18But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do. James 2:18

21Was not our ancestor Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? 22You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. 23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,"[e] and he was called God's friend. 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. James 2:21-24

    ***************

2If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about—but not before God. 3What does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness."[a]

4Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. 5However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness Romans 4:2-4

    **********************

12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:12-13

    *****************

5Listen, my dear brothers: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him? James 2:5

I was guided to the Lord by:

Lisa-- a friend who showed me
the Way to God's Heart

There are so many reasons I could think of as to why my path and Lisa's crossed.
God has set a plan for me to completely believe in Him, to trust Him,
and to let me know that He is on my side
and He picked March, 2002.

HOLY WEEK and LISA:

My fondness in watching "Jesus Christ Superstar" during Holy week

had led me to rediscover God. My desire of knowing the truth about the relationship of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene, as maliciously indicated on the new stage play DVD that I bought at an electronics store, paved the way to a revelation.

I felt like a strong force came to me and made me earnestly searched for an answer. I was not too thrilled, either, that my hubby had to chime in and made a comment of Jesus Christ being a drunkard and that He was just a human being and nothing more, as what an article, he said, he read had commented. I believe that God used my husband to play a big part of my finding the path to Him.

I'm a big believer of Jesus Christ, but I never prayed to Him everyday. I did not include Him in my daily life struggle, I only prayed when a big crisis would come up. I thought that there are a lot of people praying to Him. I did not want to ask Him for something I could work on. During my extensive research, I found an on line Bible. I had not read anything from a Bible before, so it was a pleasant surprise knowing that the internet has a Bible website. As a catholic, a Bible has never been a big influence in catechism classes in my school.

As I started to read the Gospel of John, I felt like I was in a trance. I knew I was in the computer room, but it seemed like I was in a different world with beautiful light. The more I read about the gospel, the more I felt something good and peaceful was coming inside my body. The feeling just made me cry. I started asking God for forgiveness. That I was so sorry that I was not praying to Him every night. I was crying so hard but it seemed like He just wanted me to know He's been there for me all the time, that He never abandoned me in times of my needs. I was just not calling Him. The rest of the week became a retreat for me. I felt His presence ever since. I was sort of scared going back to work because I did not want to lose that joyful renewal with the Holy Spirit. But God has more plans for me.

When I went back to work, the first person I mentioned this revelation was to Lisa. The Lord planned it because I was not sure if I was telling it to the right person. But when I saw Lisa's face of excitement, I was so happy I told her. She gave me the warmest hug. I never felt such a loving hug full of grace and full of holy spirit. I knew now why God had chosen Lisa to sit next to me, when He planned to come into my life full force in March. It was only Lisa who could 'enhance' this glorious feeling I have inside. God showed Lisa the way to my heart. I had never heard of the New International version of the Bible. She mentioned that there is a Christian Store nearby our work that sells the Bible. I really did not take it to heart what she said as I was thinking the renewal was already overwhelming for me. One day, Lisa presented me with a Women's Devotional Bible. I was so happy and surprised and I felt like a little kid being presented a new toy that I had never seen before. She was so happy to see me so thrilled. Everyday she would show me a scripture in the Bible. When I have all kinds of questions, she patiently answered them for me. She would go out her way researching something or when I wanted to purchase Christian books for me or for other people, she willingly would get them for me without hesitation. God knew that it was Lisa who would continue what He had started placing in my heart. God knew that Lisa will be a good example for me to follow.

Lisa became my spiritual guidance, a Christian that would guide me through the right direction. Surely enough, she became that and more in my life. Now that Lisa got a new life's plan from God--sharing her God's knowledge with little ones, which means saying goodbye to the bank, I am just so thankful that the Lord made her an instrument for me to discover the Bible and other devotional books. He used Lisa to make me understand the Word of God. I never met someone in my life who would have such a BIG impact in my spiritual life. A person that truly cares for my own welfare here on earth and the everlasting life. An ultimate gift from a true friend, I cannot ask for more. I am so lucky that God gave me a chance to meet such a Godly woman in Lisa. God showed me that there is such a friend, a question that I had in me for years and God answered it.

I know that I will miss her so much, I know that I will have a heavy heart not seeing her beautiful face everyday and being touched by her good disposition and pure LOVE for Jesus, but knowing that Lisa will be happy is enough for me. Lisa instilled in me, through God, the power to be strong and to always pray to fight the evilness that would come my way.

I know Lisa will be there for me always as she has been my spiritual light that God has sent for me. I may not see her everyday, but the light she left in my heart will keep on burning as I seek and learn more about Him.

One of my best buddies-- Kathy

(footnote:) I wrote this during one of my very emotional moments in my life that involved friendship and the value of it.

I met different people in my life. They came and they're gone. Before, I would take it really personal if they do not get in touch with me once we are not regularly seeing each other. Later on, I realized that life moves on. The cliche-out of sight, out of my mind, always holds true. I just add the people I met and since lost touch, to my 'memory of friends' in my brain; which would later start to be foggy and eventually gone in my memory.

However, Kathy does not belong to my 'memory of friends' brain mode. Although, we do not see as much of each other now, we still keep in touch. She makes sure that I am still part of her life, and I love her for that. I might be so busy in my daily life and seems not noticing what's happening around me-but I do. It sticks in my other part of my brain-the 'observe' part of it. While I am in a hurry getting through everyday 'rigmarole', my 'observe' brain section is enlisting all the things around me; and this is one of those special list of memory that is so embedded there.

She is my true friend. Kathy and I went through a lot of changes. In a span of 11 years, we both learned to cope with so many changes- sadness, happiness, anger - you name the emotions, we'd gone through it all. We had some 'rough edges' as we've gone through it-but we made it possible that it would not be a hindrance to a growing friendship. We became each other's shelter during the worst period of our lives as the familiar people we knew are being 'pulled out' of our existence. We hung on to each other very closely because we might slip and get 'pulled out' too. Unfortunately, Kathy's 'grip' went loose and she slipped away from our 'secured touch' of each other. I cried so hard that day. I will never forget it for the rest of my life as it gave me 'vision' of being alone and no shelter to hang on anymore. The wonderful, secure 'hand' was not there. I was scared.

Of course, I realized, she just left the 'shelter' we were in but she never had left me. Without her knowing--she guided me to be a strong person--and in both our minds, we both let go of the fears.

Now, I see Kathy in a different light. She is a special friend that will always be there for me, no matter what. Now, we email each other--the net--made it possible for both of us to reach and touch and bond, even if we do not see each other everyday. We send e-cards to each other, she always visit my 'home' on the net and will always make sure to leave 'marks' there, so I will not forget that she is maybe out of sight--but never ever out of mind.

I treasure Kathy as my loving, loyal friend for life. I miss not seeing her everyday and our daily ritual chat-but I am at peace because her presence in my life is still very strong. I just have to introduce her to my private 'chatroom' so we can still have a 'gab fest' from time to time.

This tribute may sound like I am talking in riddles, well, I exactly want that effect. I really want Kathy to be the only one who can understand and read between the lines in my tribute to her. Should anyone get a chance to read this, please let it be known that TRUE FRIENDSHIP really do exist.

I love you, too, Kathy-very much-don't you ever forget that.

I watched this movie during the 31 days of Oscar on Turner Classic Movies (TCM). I've never heard of this movie before. But my hubby was familiar with the movie and he saw it several years ago. He started watching it and encouraged me to watch it, too. He said it was a very good movie and the show host said that it won best picture award, aside from best editing and that the movie set is the largest ever built in Hollywood. I was leery because I was unfamiliar with the actors and actresses in the movie, except with Jane Wyatt. Plus it was shown way past my bedtime. But somehow it got my full attention when the movie's main cast got to Shangri-la. This time my hubby decided to get some sleep as he needed to wake up early the following day. Since I got hooked line and sinker, I've decided to watch until the end, which was at 3:30 a.m! Anyway, it made me realize something--that if they make this kind of movie today, it would not even be nominated for an Oscar, that's for sure. The High Lama is a priest who believed in Christian ethics.

The movie is in black and white, but has great sceneries, especially in Shangri-la. It somehow reminded me of what is heaven like. Jesus said that heaven is full of mansions with streets full of gold; where Jesus will serve a feast when a believer crossover to the afterlife. Jesus promises to welcome those that believe in Him with open loving arms. The Holy Book said that when believers get to heaven, they will have new glorified bodies that will never ever perish. They will be forever young with no pain, no illness, no worries and always in the presence of the Lord in peace, love and harmony. Jesus promises that believers who stayed faithful to Him until the end, when they crossover to the afterlife, judgment does not apply to them, and instead, they will go straight to heaven.

This is how I interpreted this old movie classic. It is a feel good movie that the generation X may not be able to see nor may not be able to enjoy and grasp in their lifetime.

Titus 2 (NLT) 11 For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. 12 And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God,

2 Timothy 3 (NLT) The Dangers of the Last Days--- 1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

2 Timothy 3 (THE MESSAGE) 1-5 Don't be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They'll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they're animals. Stay clear of these people. 6-9 These are the kind of people who smooth-talk themselves into the homes of unstable and needy women and take advantage of them; women who, depressed by their sinfulness, take up with every new religious fad that calls itself "truth." They get exploited every time and never really learn. These men are like those old Egyptian frauds Jannes and Jambres, who challenged Moses. They were rejects from the faith, twisted in their thinking, defying truth itself. But nothing will come of these latest impostors. Everyone will see through them, just as people saw through that Egyptian hoax.

Jude 1:18-23 (NLT) 18 They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. 19 These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them. 20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,[a] 21 and await the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will bring you eternal life. In this way, you will keep yourselves safe in God’s love. 22 And you must show mercy to[b] those whose faith is wavering. 23 Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment. Show mercy to still others,[c] but do so with great caution, hating the sins that contaminate their lives.[d]

Jeremiah 17:9 (The Message) "The heart is hopelessly dark and deceitful,

a puzzle that no one can figure out.

But I, God, search the heart

and examine the mind.

I get to the heart of the human.

I get to the root of things.

I treat them as they really are,

not as they pretend to be."

Malachi 2 (The Message)

13-15 And here's a second offense: You fill the place of worship with your whining and sniveling because you don't get what you want from God. Do you know why? Simple. Because God was there as a witness when you spoke your marriage vows to your young bride, and now you've broken those vows, broken the faith-bond with your vowed companion, your covenant wife. God, not you, made marriage. His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. And what does he want from marriage? Children of God, that's what. So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don't cheat on your spouse.

16 "I hate divorce," says the God of Israel. God-of-the-Angel-Armies says, "I hate the violent dismembering of the 'one flesh' of marriage." So watch yourselves. Don't let your guard down. Don't cheat.

17 You make God tired with all your talk.

"How do we tire him out?" you ask.

By saying, "God loves sinners and sin alike. God loves all." And also by saying, "Judgment? God's too nice to judge."

Matthew 16:2-3 (NLT) 2 He replied, “You know the saying, ‘Red sky at night means fair weather tomorrow; 3 red sky in the morning means foul weather all day.’ You know how to interpret the weather signs in the sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the signs of the times!

Matthew 24:9-14 (NLT) 9 “Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers.[a] 10 And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. 11 And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. 12 Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And the Good News about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that all nations[b] will hear it; and then the end will come.

1 Thessalonians 4 (NLT) 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

2 Thessalonians 1 (NLT)7 And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire, bringing judgment on those who don’t know God and on those who refuse to obey the Good News of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. 10 When he comes on that day, he will receive glory from his holy people—praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about him. 11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ.

"That I am not a member of any Christian Church, is true; but I have never denied the truth of the Scriptures; and I have never spoken with intentional disrespect of religion in general, or of any denomination of Christians in particular. "

Taste and See

"Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who trust in him!" — Psalm 34:8

We need to remember that God's will is good. It may not seem like it at times, but it is. His plan for us is good. However, He usually doesn't give us a detailed blueprint. Usually, God reveals His will to us in bits and pieces. He sees the big picture, while we just see a little at a time.

If you had been the father of Joseph, surely like all parents, you would have prayed for the welfare of your child. But when Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers, you could have easily said, "God, what are you doing? Why did you allow this?" But if God had not allowed this to happen, Joseph never would have been put into that position of influence that enabled him to save the country and his own family.

If you had been the mother of Moses, how your heart would have broken when you saw your own child being taken into the Pharaoh's court! Yet it was all part of God's plan to mold Moses into that leader who would lead Israel out of Egypt and its bondage.

If you had been the mother of Jesus and watched your own son hanging on that cross, how easily you could have said, "Lord, why did you let this happen?" But if Jesus had not died on that cross and taken our sins upon himself, we could not know Him today.

So when you look at the will of God in progress, it may not always make sense. But you must believe that God knows what He is doing. His will is good. Just wait until He finishes what He has begun.

THE FINAL CURTAIN?

“DEATH CAN'T BE CHEATED, BUT IT CAN BE DEFEATED."

From: Keeping God in the Small Stuff-Bruce & Stan

As much as we'd like to avoid the subject of death, it's hard not to think about it. Is death the final curtain? Or is it possible to cheat death? Is all this business about living forever a bunch of nonsense, or is it the truth? Many people believe there's nothing after death, but the Bible teaches otherwise (Hebrews 9:27).

The biggest authority in the world is Jesus. From the time His lifelong friend, John, was beheaded, to the time Jesus was put to death on the cross, Jesus knew death. Yet He also knew that He would ultimately defeat death, and not just for Himself, but for all who believe in Him. When you put your life in Christ, you can be sure that physical death isn't final. Because of His resurrection from the dead, we can defeat death just as Jesus did.

JOHN 11:25-26

"I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in me and will never perish."

We only have one life on earth but there's Life after death, where are you going to spend forever in the afterlife?

The Beatitudes of FRIENDSHIP

Blessed are the friends with a joyful spirit for their joy shall be shared and multiplied.

Blessed are the friends who offer good advice and counsel, for their wisdom shall be appreciated.

Blessed are the friends who truly listen and understand, for theirs is a rare and special gift from heaven.

Blessed are the friends who provide solace and comfort, for their kindness shall never be forgotten.

Blessed are the friends who remain loyal and true, for they shall be called most worthy.

Blessed are the friends who help us in need, for they are friends not just in word, but in deed.

Blessed are the friends who can forgive and forget, for they show, and shall be shown, GOD's mercy.

Blessed are the friends who remember us in prayer, for they too shall be remembered.

STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM THIS WINTER

take care of your immune system -our natural guardian against diseases and illnesses. It's a complex network of specialized cells.

The different organs and systems in our body will not be able to perform smoothly were it not for the support of the immune system. Imagine our body as a castle and its soldiers comprise the immune system. IF THE SOLDIERS FALL SO DOES THE CASTLE. Thus, it is important that we have proper diet and get enough rest and sleep, so as to strengthen our immune system. We can also take vitamins, which can prevent a deficiency in the immune system.

Eat Well: Excellent nutrition is the backbone of maintaining good health and a strong immune response throughout the year. During cold and flu season, you should increase your consumption of warming foods, such as soups and teas, and decrease your consumption of cold and raw foods.

Exercise Consistently: Moderate exercise keeps blood and energy flowing, which increases circulation and function. Don’t be sedentary during the week and then exercise hard on the weekends. This can damage your immune system and make you more susceptible to getting a respiratory infection.

•Get an Adequate Amount of Vitamins: More specifically: ◦Vitamin C: Found in fruits, broccoli, and brussels sprouts. ◦Vitamin A: Found in orange and red veggies such as carrots and greens such as kale. Also found in meat, fish, eggs, milk and other dairy products. ◦Vitamin D: Found in egg yolk, cod liver oil and other sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Milk and other dairy products are often fortified with it. Small amounts of vitamin D are produced when you are exposed to the sun (although exposure to the sun should be in moderation). This may help explain why people tend to get sick more often during the winter (when there is less daylight and people are less likely to be outside).

Reduce/Manage Stress: Both Eastern and Western traditions recognize unresolved stress as a factor that weakens the body. Stress can be brought on by emotional upset, poor diet, lack of sleep and other environmental stressors. Stress can be debilitating, using energy that should be directed to maintain and repair the immune system. When you are stressed, your body doesn’t have enough energy to maintain and repair your immune system.

Dress Appropriately: Be sure to keep your neck and throat warm and out of the wind. In Chinese medicine, certain pathogens are thought to enter the body through the back of the neck and throat – so it’s especially important to wear a scarf when you’re outside.

Gradually Expose Yourself to Pathogens: If you live in an environment that’s too clean, your immune system will become idle. Not being exposed to viruses on a regular basis, may subject your body to conditions like asthma or allergies. Your body will channel function towards things that aren’t pathogens (such as allergies) that normally wouldn’t make you sick. Having a cold or flu keeps your immune system alert.

Live a Moderate Life: If you drink (alcohol), don’t drink too much or eat too many sweets – it can have a major effect on your immune function. Try not to do anything in excess.

Hydration is Key: Dehydration affects your skin and mucus membranes which are the first line of defense in preventing pathogens from entering your body. If your mucus membranes are dried out, it can create a problem. They are responsible for flushing out your system. Pathogens can easily attach to cells and get into your body. This is especially important during exercise.

Wash Your Hands: Washing your hands frequently and thoroughly can help prevent you from getting sick and also keep you from spreading your germs to others when you are sick. You should always wash your hands before you eat.

Over-consumptionn of sweets and junk food-A high sugar intake can reduce the response of the whole IMMUNE SYSTEM. No nutritive value and only adds calories to your diet.

Cigarettes can contain over 1,000 different chemicals, many of which can IMPAIR your immune system.

If the Immune System were working perfectly there would have been no chance for the cancer to begin. It would be destroyed on a cell-by-cell basis as it happened.

I also rely on my Master Physician (God the Father, Son & Holy Spirit in One) who is also my Comforter and Guidance Teacher. He is my #1 SUPPORTER, STRENGTHENER and HEALER♥of my immune system. ♥♥Yeaheyyy!
